God's Provision

It's hard to believe that we are nearing the end of March already. Time sure has flown. When I think back to last March it amazes me that so much has happened in this year. A year ago this past week we finally found an apartment to rent after almost 3 months of searching. The Lord gave us a great apartment- first floor of a house with no one upstairs, fenced in back yard, and just a couple blocks from church. At the time we didn't understand why the Lord made us wait but now we see that He had the perfect place for us all along. The past year the Lord has given us many opportunities to serve Him at church. One of our main purposes for moving out here was to be able to get involved in church. Jeff started directing the choir and I accompany for him. We've also been involved with Truth Trackers, nursery, and the recording ministry. What a joy it has been to contribute as members of the body of Christ. And perhaps the most significant event within the last year was the birth of Abigail Christine. We thank the Lord for giving us a healthy little girl. What a joy she has been and I'm sure will continue to be.
The Lord has provided for us in many
different ways. One particular way is in regard to clothes for Abigail. We were given clothes
before she was born, but not near enough to last her a week even! I was asking the Lord one day to provide for this specific need and within a week the Lord answered my request (and then some). There is a  family (Lisa and Jeff Shaw) in our church with a 2 1/2 daughter (Gracie). Gracie was born in June so the sizing and the seasons of clothes match right up with Abigail (a July baby). Lisa has kept
all of Gracie's clothes for the purpose of lending to those in need. Well, we were in need. The week after I was praying for clothes, Lisa asked me if I needed any clothes for Abigail. Isn't our God good? We have borrowed and continue to borrow clothes from the Shaws. What a blessing it has been to our family.

(The girl in the picture is Gracie- she adores Abigail!)

Cleo and Kay's Visit

Cleo and Kay came up for a visit last weekend (even in spite of a terrible rain storm). They came bearing gifts... Abigail's first Easter basket and yummy steaks and potatoes for us. Abigail was loving all of the attention. She talked more on Saturday than she has in her entire life. Thankfully she was also very well behaved. She didn't know what to think of the Easter basket though. She got a bunch of candy, a duckie cup, and bunny ears. We put the bunny ears on her but she didn't like it. She got really confused when Jeff put the ears on. It was quite funny to watch. We had fun playing Phase 10 with Cleo and Kay and just talking. In 2 weeks we'll have more visitors since Jeff's parents are coming up for Easter.

Note: Notice the little chick in Abigail's hand in the first picture. It is from a book she got for Christmas. It's just about the size of her hand and she absolutely loves it. She has figured out how to get it out of the egg shell it fits in in her book. It by far is her favorite toy right now.

"Look what I can do!"

Abigail's new "trick"
While rearranging Abigail's room this past weekend, Jeff put Abigail in her crib with some toys. We moved her dresser and changing table and turned to look at her. Much to our surprise, she was standing! She had pulled herself from sitting to standing by grabbing the crib rails. Good thing we lowered the crib a while back.
